Inspired in the Andean region of Colombia.
Colombia has six natural regions: the Amazon, the Pacific region, the Orinoquia, the Caribbean, the Andean and the Insular Oceanic.
The continental part of the Colombian Caribbean region corresponds to the southwestern portion, which extends eastwards along the coasts of Venezuela and includes the Leeward Islands, from Aruba to Margarita.
The dry tropical forest of this area is one of the most extensive and best developed in Colombia. Although this part is isolated, it is also strongly intervened.
Therefore, the Tropical Dry Forest of the Caribbean Region is today severely threatened by the pressure exerted by human activity in coastal areas.
